CLINIC BUS DONATED BY UNFPA
A mobile clinic bus has been donated to VSHC from the United Nations Fund For Population Activity (UNFPA). This was as a result of United Nations Development Program’s (UNDP) assessment of the usefulness of the European Union (EU) funded education and clinical outreach project of Viseisei Sai Health Centre entitled “Strengthening rights of rural women and girls in Reproductive Health (RH)" conducted between November 2012 and December 2014. The outreaches were conducted in rural Nadi, Lautoka and Ba.
The mobile clinic bus provides a confidential clinic space for patient consultations. It has been designed and set up specifically for Pap smear (cervical cancer screening) but can also be used for other screening, consultation and counselling.
The mobile clinic enables the team to travel to rural and remote areas to provide much needed support to communities who are unable to access services.
The mobile clinic was officially handed over to VSHC on the 27th February, 2015.
